Why did we build Read by QxMD?

Health care professionals need to stay up to date on the latest medical research and topic reviews to provide optimal care. Unfortunately, the process of content discovery is broken with research artificially compartmentalized by publishers and hidden behind countless institutional pay walls.

At QxMD, we believe that knowledge translation– the process by which new knowledge is incorporated into clinical practice – is an important and unsolved challenge for our health care system. We hope that ‘Read by QxMD’ will be a part of the solution.

Seamless 1-tap access available at thousands of institutions.

Pros and cons of Read by QxMD app for iPhone and iPad

Read by QxMD app good for

Good app!!! Easy to use!!! Read a many articles!!! Perfect!!!
Very useful. Easy to customize. Allows me to be aware of the current medical litterature!
Simple app that keeps me up to date with new research and connects to my library to download the article. Provides fantastic system to store and organize all my papers. Also great way to search Pubmed and find research articles or topic reviews.
Fabulous app that provides instant access to full text articles. Super easy to then download the ones I want onto Evernote - I find this better than starring them in the app. The email prompts listing the latest popular articles has helped me stay current. Having access through my University library has provided more articles than the app can do directly.
This is app is perfect for organizing peer-reviewed sources, especially while away from my computer. Its very easy to use, and I am constantly updated with new research. I wish I started using this a long time ago.
Amazing app, keeps you up to date with the latest articles, with option to access full article with institutional login. You can customize which specialties to follow, which makes life a lot easier because you will on,y be reading articles you will be interested in.

Some bad moments

Please update. Every time I try to search for articles it crashes on both my iPhone and iPad.
App finds .pdfs about 10% of the time (no nature, science, lancet, JAMA...) Doesnt work with my university of Penn login either...
After 2 emails to the support team, a few months apart, still no fix for institutional access to Université Laval. No one did even bother to answer my mails, even just to apologize for their incapacity to help.
This latest version wont work. Wont open and keeps on crashing.
